it's been good so far =) learnt a lot of new stuff. the staff has been pretty awesome to us.

obviously some ppl might find manning the urine station on the far end of the awesome scale but yeah, it's pretty interesting when the urine samples don't pass and a microscopic examination has to be done on them. i got to see crystals in this dude's urine today. was pretty stoked. /geek.

this really hot backpacker dude came in two days ago to have his er stool test done and blood test for duno what infection and the kakaks kept talkin about him in malay infront of his face and it was really hard to keep a straight face. his stool is pretty disgustin tho'. it's one thing to perform the tests on the samples A, B, C, etc. its another to put a face to the sample bottle. ewW. and yet another to do the test on the samples while they are still warm; fresh out of the toilet. Gross.

i got to go to the maternity ward today to collect blood from the newborn babies with kak malar. god they were cute. sho tiny. tiny feet tiny arms tiny head. this one baby was ugly but he was the only one. haha. the rest were all fat and round. i guess the ugly baby was skinny. he shud eat more. their skin was so soft and they smelt so good and when they blink its literally >_<>

i got chatting with one of the staff today, leah her name was. told her i set out to do veterinarian but somehwere along the way i lost track. i was pleasantly surprised when she told me she did a diploma in veterinarian studies. had a long long chat. medicine is interesting. so much more than anything else and now that i've put my heart in it, perhaps it's possible to pursue it further once i've finished my studies.

my fellow trainees are nichole and this dude. who is a major pussy im sorry. but seriously? pussified. dude. he yelled at me cos i pricked his finger with the lancet and i used the 1' prick which is the smallest of all. and whined about how it was damn painful and shit. dude. i didn't feel a bloody thing. and getting whacked by my dad was far more painful. tripping over myself on a road was far more painful. that was nothing. he accused me of not sterilizing the prick (cos i didnt wear gloves oh boohoo) and shit and letting the swab dry up b4 pricking him. dude. the swabs for disinfecting onli lar doesn have any anaesthetic effect on it. and nichole didn use anything except the prick on me the day b4. she didnt swab me she didnt put plaster. tiu. dahla adi put off testing his blood type for damn many days with some lame ass excuse now wanna tiao me somore. they use that prick on newborn babies 1 okay. and some of em don even blink. waddafark. how the heck he expect some1 to insert a hypodermic needle into him to extract blood i dunoe. i said " dude u have a pretty low pain tolerance huh." hes v nice la but he is so.dam.straight.dat.i.canot.stand. i dont think hed ever broken a rule in his life. haha when we have to practise extracting blood with a hypodermic needle i so want him to b my victim.

this fat as shit lady came in today to have her blood extracted. and they cudnt find her vein at all. cos she was heavily obese. like fat spillin out of her armpits and stuff. pretty lumpy. and gross. i was watching in sick fascination the way they tried to locate a sizeable vein on her and extract bout 5 ccs of blood. in the end they had to use her knuckles and it hurt like hell. even so it took a good 10 mins. usually it takes like a minute. this other patient beside her had his blood extracted by another staff and he was watchin as well and he asked me "why take so long? canot find blood isit?" and i nodded and he said, "canot find cos hiding under too many layers of u noe what." then he winked. i all but choked. cudnt laugh cos the patient was right there. he was so MEAN. and i loved him for it LOL.

i missed the chance to go see a bone marrow transplant today (apparently its pretty damned rare and dam alot of trainees have fainted seeing it i duno why but food > bone marrow transplant so i went for my break now i regret it kinda) and its kinda wrong to hope for someone to get sick so i can have another chance to see the transplant isn't it? =.= damn.

got to see lotsa cancer patients come in and its pretty sad. esp when theyre so weak and shit. makes u think that if there is a god, hes pretty mean isn't he? not only to the victim but to put their family members and friends through hell.
